Are you a budget traveller like me. And if you are, then read on...Coz i'm about to reveal to you how to go about travelling in Australia in a cost effective manner and still get to enjoy the many things that Australia has to offer. But first, let me share with you my accommodation experiences in Australia.
Now while i was researching on Australia, i've come upon this unique place called the "YHA Hostel". The hostel itself provides alot of opportunity to meet up with like-minded budget travellers like you and me. To me, the hostel itself is clean, although we share a communal type of toilet facilities, it always amazes me that it is always clean with one section for your daily bathing needs and another section for your toilet businesses, separated by a doorway. The Sydney Central YHA Hostel that i've stayed in at has bath facilities fit for a King/Queen, all the bathrooms are equipped with individual glass panel shower.
At the Sydney Central YHA, you can easily access Darling Harbour which is a short walk away, Chinatown, Sydney Entertainment Centre, shops, pubs, clubs and cinemas. Close major tourist attractions include, The Rocks, Sydney Tower, Harbour Bridge and Opera House. The reception at this hostel are equally friendly, with twin & double rooms, four, six and eight share rooms available. While i was staying at this hostel, i had encountered some difficult travellers, the next day, i took my complaints to them and immediately without questions, they changed another room for me. While within the hostel, they also offer travel & bookings one stop services for all budget travellers, where i without any hesitation booked my stay over at Melbourne and did some bookings too for a 2 day Tour of Great Ocean Road, Port Campbell National Park & Twelve Apostles with a local travel tour called the Autopia Tours in Melbourne.
Next, my stay at Blue Mountains YHA Hostel was equally fun. Its built like a log house in a mini town of Katoomba. For my stay there, i venture to a place called the Megalong Australian Heritage Centre, where i did horse riding, and some farm activities. My stay at Melbourne was at Queensberry Hill YHA Hostel, i used this place to store my bulky backpack as we are not suppose to carry big backpacks but day bags when i go for my 2 day tour of the Great Ocean Road. Lucky for me, the short term luggage storage was big enough to fit my backpack in. Last but not least, my stay at Ballart YHA in Melbourne. Very posh setting but quiet. At night, it is part of the props for A Night Time Sound and Light show, which i will be covering in my next travel journals.
Attached, 2 pixs of my stay at Blue Mountains YHA Hostel.
