Many faces that were not familiar to me, i've met them on my way..Was it fate that brought us together? I really have no clues. But this i'm sure of, is that these faces bring new meaning into my life and not only that they brought back sweet memories whenever i see that rainbow up in the after rain sky....
Faces whom i've met on my journey in the mountains have to be the following:-
1) Guides and Porters - They bring a whole new meaning to us travellers, they are our guiding star and point us to the right directions. Without them, being petite me, will have to slave thru' the days carrying my backpack but my heroe arrives and even with my load & his still are able to have a faster pace than me. Thru' my loneliness, they are always there to give me a pat on my shoulder on how much i've accomplished at the end of the day and encourages me to do the same for the following day. I must admit they have a good pair of hands, course nobody will be able to take a photo of me while i'm on my trip alone without anyone around except my guide. Oh i'm so lucky to have a honest guide coz i heard other guides stealing off their travellers money and possessions while they sleep soundly in the deep of the night.
2) Lodges/Inn Owners - My stay in Chhomrong International Guest House was the best found memories i've ever had. The owner of this lodge was a lady boss and quite good at making a hearty meal too. Especially to those weary souls whom have unwittingly submitted themselves without preparation for such a trek will definitely cry out loud, but all thanks to this lodge, my worries and fears were gone the minute i tasted her home cooked food. I must say that its the best in this part of the world and almost wishing that it was a dream for me to taste her food again but only in my dreams. Sadly now, i've only her lodge photos a living memory for me..but there is a saying in our culture not bothering about how long it lasts, but on whether you've done it...No regrets at all....
3) Innocent Children of Nepal - Its my hobby whenever i see a child, i will always make an effort to take a photo or two. Indeed, i've taken and leaves me too a sweet memory of this place. They are the pillars of the future, who will definitely take over their parents rich heritage and business.. I have attached a photo of this little gal, whom gladly posed for me. She was brave even though she has red colour powder on her face as it was the custom/tradition of that time which i've visited that the locals will celebrate the day throwing different colour powders on one another, even travellers alike chip in to have fun in this joyous day.
4) My new found friends - I've been practising my Japanese Language for a long time and i was excited when i saw Japs around. They were travelling together as buddies and we kinda of bump into one another during our treks. I began engaging myself with them but ended up conversing in English as my Jap Language was really not up to the standard. We had a wonderful time together. Both Japs are still students and must have earned some pocket money to visit this place. At the end of the day, we even exchanged email address so that we can keep in touch with one another. Even to this day, i'm still in touch with the Japs Guide whom has emailed me that he owns a Travel Company and wishes for me to give him some referrals knowing that i'm working for a Travel Agent in my country.
Thank you all for leaving me a good and memorable time in Nepal and will always remember you in my heart...
