Trekking around Annapurna Base Camp

Another short ride from Pokhara to start my trekking journey. My guide and me started our trekking from Ulabi-Ghorepani-Tatopani-Chhomrong-Dovan-Sen-Juinu-Landruk-Dhampus-Pokhara. One of my favourite spot has to be Poon Hill, certain time for admission, you'll have to rise up early in the morning around 5am and start to ascend your journey up to the top of Poon Hill for around 2hrs just in time to get a glimpse of the rising sun. Beautiful scenery with a few tourist already up there to catch that special moment in their cameras. I took a few snapshots of the place with views of the snow capped mountains, no wonder this place is a must visit stop for all trekkers.

1st interesting Sight : Food and Lodging during my 12days treks are mostly lodges/inns. In order for these lodges/inns to have their daily supply of essentials, thru' mules, these essentials like salt, sugar, oil etc..are carried on the back of these animals with a guide to bring them up to these villages. Mostly these lodges have a little garden where they will plant their own vegetables like cabbages. At one of my lunch stop, i ordered one soup noodle with vegetables, the owner went straight to her garden behind the kitchen and here you are, your delicious hot noodle soup with plenty of fresh cabbages.

2nd interesting Sight : As it was very cold when we make our journey up towards the base camp, i still make it a point to have baths. As up in the village lodges, there are no water heater around, owners of the lodges will have to boil water using traditional methods. At one point of my journey, my guide told me to get ready and strip once the hot water arrives, as once the water leaves the fire place, the waters temperature will go down pretty fast too. I had one cup of water down my body, quickly applied some washing foams and down another cup of water to wash away. I can't imagine myself up here without a daily bath hence have to forgo the thought of choosing here for my retirement (hahaha)

3rd interesting Sight : My friend told me there is this lodge called the ''International travelling lodge" up here near Chhomrong, which serves marvelicious Pizzas, Pastas and what have you. I can't believe my eyes with what i saw on the menus. I ordered every other kind of food available and ate every thing that was on my table. The scenery from this lodge was quite animated, i even witness a avalanche rolling down from the mountain which was lucky for me far away from us.
