Airplane close shave incident

The recent news of a Garuda Aircraft, crash-landed in Yogyakarta with initial reports indicating human error as a possible cause to the inferno that had broken out onboard the jet. However, pilot and co-pilots of the Garuda airplane have insisted that a 'huge gust of wind' was to blame for the accident that cost at least 21 lives as quoted by TODAY.

I have a similar incident involving another asean carrier (which i will not name), where i was coming back from Nepal, Kathmandu. As we took off, there was a compartment that was not locked properly and the plane has to land back at Kathmandu airport again to check the mistake. We took back the same plane again and this time round, it was fine, however, we were delayed as we need to connect a flight at another country before coming back. The airplane gave us a complimentary night stay at one of their airport hotels. The next morning, we flew back home. I remembered that i had to call my new employer to explain that i will not be able to report work due to the delay of the incoming flight back home. Lucky for me, my boss was quite understanding and agreed for me to report work one day later.

This incident has taught me that however a good planning, there will bound to have unexpected change of plans.
